There's actually a crazy story behind this post, since you all know me I am going to tell it to you...
As most of you already know my Dad passed away in February and I have been having a real hard time with dealing with life since then. There have been a few issues that have really bothered me. One of which was my Dad's Famous Wingjuice Recipe. If you haven't had any shame on you. He developed a recipe for a Buffalo Wing Sauce sometime in the Early 80's when he was the Owner/Operator of a takeout Barbecue shop in the torresdale section of Philly. He called it "Slice & Bite" and even had t-shirts that said "Slice & Bite - You can't beat our meat." HA HA HA what funny guy. In any case he was very famous for selling Buffalo Wings, which not every pizza shop sold at that time. He was also very well known for his buffalo sauce, so much so apparently the owner's of many restaurants had offered to buy his recipe on many occasions.
As I got older and worked with him I started to enjoy his buffalo sauce & always wanted to know how to make it. He always was very secretive about his recipe since IMO I thought it was probably straight out of a bottle. Well I found out later it wasn't when he began teaching me how to make it.
Fastforwarding a few more years I was now in college and one night after eating some less then desirable wing's, it came to me. WINGJUICE... I called my dad and pitched the name to him and he liked it. I immediately registered the web address Wingjuice.com and thought this was going to make me my first million dollars. I had my dad teach me how to make it, and when he retired we could setup an operation to make and bottle this glorious juice. Wingjuice.
Times were busy shit happened and we never really got around to it. Yet. The one thing I was still really lacking was a real set of instructions on how to make it. I mean I knew the ingredients, but he was very weird as I said about writing things down. He always told me not to worry he had the recipe written down and it was in my parents safety deposit box. If anything happened to him I was to go get it and when I had the time unleash wingjuice onto the world.
February of this year came and wen't, Dad passed, and sure enough no recipe to be found anywhere. I gotta tell you I was heart broken, I wasn't upset with my dad I was upset with me for not making him write it down. He never wrote anything down.
It was about a month or so ago after I had given up on the Wingjuice Idea when it hit me like a ton of bricks. My dad had come up to my house and walked me through the process for making Wingjuice at Christmas, 2 Cups of B#^^#, 2 Cups of F@!N*()#($*&, A packet of I&*@()#*$&* #*$&%*(#$&@!, a teaspoon of P^&*((* , Mix and Heat, Blah Blah Blah. It all hit me so hard and so fast while I was driving that day I almost drive right off the road. I had it, I had the recipe this whole time, it was in my freakin' head. I rushed home ripped the kitchen apart and about an hour or so later, I had Wingjuice. Ang & I tested, re-tested, and tested some more. I then even had my Mom test it to make sure I had it. Well I got it, So ASAP I am going to write it all down and put it in my will, to one of you lucky cats.
Since I was messing around on the Web before I wrote this I decided to at least publish a link on Wingjuice.com and now I am going to look to produce & market this stuff. If it takes off like I know it can I may be able to say to Meghan when she's older Grandpop put you through college. That would be nice.
