Bought www.PhillyPirateRock.com ...

So If you thought I was crazy for starting an internet radio station. You are going to think I'm totally nutz now.

I bought the internet domain www.PhillyPirateRock.comm. It was so cheap I coundn't pass it up. As of right now we are playing all kinds of good music on the station. Bands like OAR, Coldplay, Audioslave, REM, The Killers, Pogues, Reel Big Fish, Dropkick Murphys, Green Day, Flogging Molly & Me First and the Gimmee Gimmees. We are also Playing Block's of CON at 10am & 7pm everyday.

I am in the process of recruiting some DJs (friends) to help with Live programming. Once we get a team together we will have a full themed schedule with live commentary and all. Please send me your comments on what kind of shows you would like to hear. I was thinking maybe hour long programming like, 80's-Early 90's Hard Rock show, a 2 hour afternoon Folk show, a top 40 midday/lunch hour, maybe a Soundtrack Rock show, A Punk show, Redneck Country Rock show & of course a Paddy Rock Hour.

Any suggestions ???


Also if anyone would like to do some Live Broadcasts and/or write reviews for new music, let me know as well ???

CON at Brittingham's & Finnigan's Wake

Wow what a weekend we got to see 2 Live shows from CON, this weekend. The first of which was kinda amuzing at Brittingham's on Friday Night. Ron, Sawyer, Frank & I got out a bit late and met up with Dolan at Brittingham's around 11pm. Con was just finishing the second set and they didn't seem to be having fun since the place was packed but with people who, for some reason just refused to get into the music. Basically the Crowd sucked. Actually they Sucked Ass!!!!!!!!!!! Now since this was on Friday I didn't have my new Digi yet, I do not any Pics of this Fiasco....

Con went on for there third and final set of the Night and Rocked the Place until James broke a string on his Bass, and didn't have a replacement. That Sucks... Since they were down a Bass and still had 20 Minutes to go, Frank "The Lead Singer Guy" busted out on Wes' Acoustic and Did "James Connolly" & "Patriot Game".

We Left around 1:45am and Since Ron felt like getting home, we made great time in the GTO. I think we hit 120MPH at one point.


Now for Saturday Night at Finnigan's Wake...
What a night out... It was the first time in a while I got to hang out with my old College roommate, He is married now, I am married now w/ a kid on the way and we just havent had a chance to hang out alot. That being said it was good to get out with everyone. Kris, Dolan, & I rolled up in Dolan's 4Runner, while Ron, Mike, Snitz, Jay, & MJ rolled in Snitzy's durango. We Met up with Leanne, Jeff, Megan, Duff, & Leanne's Sister... I always forget her name. Con went on around 10:15pm. played three sets and rocked all night.

During there 2nd set Jay & MJ were bitching about leaving... Ron was getting pretty pissed cause he was having a great time. They kept it up...Kept it up... Until Ron was like "Dude we gotta go they are bitching", Which I understand. I can't stand when I go out with people, and they wanna go early because they aren't into the scene. Now Snitzy on the other hand, I think really liked the band and really didn't want to leave either. I guess we'll see next time we go out to see them if he comes along.

One of the Highlights of the night was watching Leanne & Meghan "HOOK-UP". Yes I said it "Hook-UP", I can never get enough of watching chicks hook up with each other. Now before we move on to the Pic of this I have to say these ladies both have Boyfriends, I think. Is Jeff a boyfriend ???? As for Meghan, we all know she is with Duff.

In the end it was a real good time out, with the baby coming soon I am not sure how many more of these nights I will have for a while. Introducing Philly Pirate Rock Radio...

Since my favorite bands do not get much play on the air waves in Phiily, I decided to change that a bit. I started "Philly Pirate Rock" which is an Internet Stream Radio Station Playing The Pogues, Flogging Molly, CON, Dropkick Murphys, OAR, Green Day, The Killers, Y100 Sonic Sessions, & much more. I will be setting up a request email box for those of you who would like to listen along as well, and want to me to play some of your favorite songs.

A Major Pet Peeve of Mine...

This morning I heard on 610 WIP Radio, that last night was Gay Community Night at the Phillies game. Great! I also heard there were some problems with a christian rights group posting a banner that said, "Homosexuality is a sin". Great too!

My pet peeve is not with Gays or Gay protestors, Instead I see this as another example of programs like "Black History Month" & The NAACP.

 Why is it we have Gay Community night at the Phillies & Black History Month.  When is Irish, Italian, or German Community night?
On that same note when is "White History Month" or where is the NAAWP?


The above are examples when groups of individuals based on Race, Religion, Sexuality, Etc Get what I consider preferential treatment. What I am saying is simply saying is, "If its good for the Goose, it should be good for the Gaggle." If we are going to have a black history month, then I want a white one. If there is an organization called the NAACP then I think its only fair for the NAAWP to be formed. Because of this most people think I am racist. I strongly disagree.

I guess my point in this Blog is equality. I feel there is no eqaulity in this damn city. Look at the NitWit Mayor we have, Street took office many years ago, and was freakin re-elected, HOW... Well I guess his constituents are a majority & I am in the minority party. Oh well, that's the beauty of our Democracy. I'm cool with that.

NJ 101.5 Sucks Ass!!!!!!!

Ok so I am testing out a new way of mobile blogging. SDtandard email to blog, this means I can Blog from anywhere real quickly, from my Blackberry.

This NJ 101.5 thing really pisses me off, its just not cool.

One of the NJ Guys Craig was at a CON Show this past weekend and told them he would play them on the air on Monday between 6-7pm. James Duffy the bass player from CON called around 6:30pm on monday and they totally dissed him. They said they would listen to there new cd that night and review it the next day. I listened from 4-7pm last night and they didn't play any songs, or review the album.

I say we go over and beat there asses...

CON CD Release Party for Debut Album "Nine Songs"

Ok so after a little recovery time from this past weekends activities, we decided to go to the CD Release Party for CON's first CD, Called NINE SONGS. Ron, Dolan, Frank & I headed down to Finnegan's Wake at around 7pm on Wednesday. Sawyer couldn't make it he was pulling Milk Man duties at Super Fresh. I wish I had some Pics of the event, I figured it was gonna be empty, Boy was I wrong. The place was packed for a Wednesday night. Con must have a huge following. They went on around 9pm and Sawyer pulled rank at Superfresh and busted out early to join us by like 9:30pm. Which was sweet. The band only played one set, oh but what a set. They played from 9pm-11:20pm. It was just shy of 2&1/2 hours, and they totally rocked the place. They played all of there originals and a ton of covers. Great night out !

Forget it, I now think TO has to go...Get rid of the Bum

Ok so maybe you didn't know I am a big Philadelphia Sports fan? Well I am, I'm a 4 for 4 guy. That means I root for the 4 home teams in the 4 major Sports. In order for me its the Flyers, Eagles, Phillies, and Sixers. Anyway the past week has been nothing but talk of Terrell Ownens, and is he gonna come to camp, is he not.

Of course he is going to come to camp, I think it was obvious, he isnt giving them any more money back in fines cause he is a cheap bastard. yes I can say that in my Blog, he is a cheap bastard. Sorry!!!!

Now things have really escalated he has gotten himself kicked out of camp for a week and all the local news is doing is making this a media circus. I hate that, I also hate seeing him Mocking the Best Coach the Eagles have ever had, and possibly the best QB we have ever had also. CHeck out some these Picks of him, over at his house in NJ. He is Rediculous. Ya know what I am not gonna give him any more publiciy then he has already gotten or he will then WIN. Rant Over I am Out.

Flogging Molly Concert in Atlantic City & the White Trash BBQ #5

Wife is still pregnant, House is now purchased, we settle Mid October, GTP is Sold. All's I have left is my Love of Beer and Good Music. This they cannot take away from me. So we put together a weekend trip to AC, for a Flogging Molly Concert and some extra fun at a barbecue the next day. Besides the 2+ Hr Drive down all went really smooth. Had a few cancellations from those who were supposed to go, but other than that all went real well. I gotta give to Flogging Molly, they only played for like an hour and a half but it was so worth it. They rocked so hard. We all started a few Ole` Chants that rung through the whole venue. I think all who went would agree it was a great time. Since we stayed down in the showboat casino that night we had a chance to gamble after the concert. Maybe I should of not done that, "Note to Self: Don't Gamble after 7 Pints of Guinness and a few Car Bombs."

Needless to say I lost a few bucks at Black Jack. The good news was we went back to the rooms after we cashed Greg in who BTW won and won big, he walked off the Casino floor up 1000 Dollars. Nice Job Gregie!!!!!!!!! Anyway we went back to the rooms and played some 5 way Hold'em so I won some of my money back, WooHoo! I got some Pics from down AC and from the WTB, I am gonna post them as soon as they are developed.


As Far as Saturday went the White Trash Barbecue was amazing, Con Played for a few great sets and rocked the place. BTW Con has become one of the Best Local Rock Bands I have ever heard. We first saw them on St. Patrick's Day and have been to quite a few shows since then, they Rock. go check them out when you get a chance. http://www.conmusic.com
